Three weeks on, an update on the building internship at MaeMutGarden

One of the main selling points of natural building is that the work mostly feels like play. After the serious work of laying the foundation and erecting the roof structure, we have done almost all the work you see here with three interns who came to learn the basics of natural building without any previous experience.

In three weeks we have almost finished the walls in one room and have started on the living area, building a bench in what will be the main sitting area, we have been assisted by one trusted carpenter who has helped with setting the doors and windows and now is working with the bamboo structure for the verandah roof.

The first group of interns are coming to the end of their stay and we will be starting with a new group on Aug 1. We have worked six days a week, around five hours per day.

  1. Looks wonderful, guys. Can’t wait to see the finished product. It’s never really finished though, is it?

  2. Looking marvelous, Marco! One of these years, we’ll have to come out to visit you!
