Sustainable ingredients for a surprisingly flavoursome smoking experience.

Tobacco is grown in many places in Thailand, mainly for local consumption, young banana leaves are sort of ironed and then cut into strips, the other ingredient is dried tamarind skin. Similar to a burmese cheroot, but without filter and also always made fresh, hence much less harsh on the throat.

Fifty baht, the price of a packet of bad thai cigarettes, buys the average smoker about ten days’ supply.

This is not to say that I advocate smoking, which is dangerous, a filthy habit and the work of the devil…
